... is a non-profit making association founded in 1987 with the
following aims:
- to import, sale and distribute Fair trade Bananas
- to support trade unions of banana workers, especially in Latin
America
- to promote socail and political projects in co-operation with
bais organisations in banana producing countries
- to develop and improve contacts to small producers in Central
America and in the ACP-countries
- to examine the effects of the european banana regulation
- educational work and public information on bananas
- co-operation with developmental organisations in Europe.
The Banana Campaign is a network of nine environmental and social Non-Governmental
Organisation established in 1994 with the following aims:
- to campaign and lobby at a national and international level for
more socially and ecologically sustainable banana production and
fair trade.
- to support and work with banana farmers and plantation workers
in producer countries.
- to carry out research, to provide educational services and to
disseminate material on the banana trade
- to collaborate with other organisations working on similar issues
in Europe and elsewhere.
